Student RecognitionRecognition is important for a multitude of reasons. At Mohegan there are many ways we bring focus to the positive contributions of our student body and staff members.
For students that stand out for extraordinary reasons, accomplishments and choices we recognize them as 'super hero's". Not only does this give recognition to individual students it motivates others to exceed expectations. Students who have attendend school consistantly for a three week period will be recognized for "popp'en in" through announcements, bulletin boards and receiving Pop corn! In the classrooms and hallways students can be "Caught Being Good". They receive a "Caught Being Good" slip which is place into a jar and each week at the all school meetings three-4 slips are drawn. These students are publicly recognized and given a "school store dollar" that can be redeemed towards an item in MHS School Store. Each Month, each teacher chooses a "Student of the Month" from every class they teach. The students are provided with a certificate and recognized in the all school meeting. On a weekly basis, the staff discussing student issues. In terms of the positive the staff identify which students are "Stand Out Students" in the class room with their work, behavior and positive changes and attitudes. These names are read over the morning announcements and posted through out the school. |

One of our points of pride is our staff at Mohegan. They work effortlessly serving our students. Mohegan works to serve the individual learner which means the teachers differentiate instruction to meet all levels of understanding. Recognizing the hard work and efforts of our staff is just as important so we have the "Whooo's Whooo" award. This recognizes their outstanding efforts.
